Hello, I’m Nadia.

Senior Product Designer.

I help start-ups define, design and launch distinguished digital products with great user experience. I have worked end-to-end on four shipped products; Moteefe Seller Dashboard, Koa Health's Mindset, Groovsense and
Happy Joe.

Moteefe had built a print on demand web based platform where users could create unique products that could be pushed to a Moteefe white label store. All stores had Moteefe within the URL and this posed one of our problems. We needed to remove our name to reduce our liability.

When I joined the company the decision had been made to build a new platform, with completely new code and user flow. The previous flow didn't allow for basic flexibility for users. Some ground work had taken place to build the basic flow for the new White Label Stores, but some features had been built without thinking about scalability, such as 'Collections'.

We built all the features necessary for our existing user base to move across to the new platform. We collected feedback on how they could be improved. In general users were satisfied with the new platform and were able to launch their new stores and run ads in time for Christmas peak. We hit our targets and retained all of our most valuable users. The product now had solid features that we could also use confidently with our integration with Shopify, and allow users to have Moteefe and Shopify hosted stores.

A / B Testing

At Koa Health I worked on the collaborative development of a mental health app that involved user testing and working closely with Massachusetts Hospital. The objective was to create a program that could be used alongside traditional therapy to improve the well-being of its users.

The project aimed to design a user-friendly and impactful app by incorporating user feedback and leveraging the expertise of a renowned healthcare institution.

I owned several app and dashboard features end-to-end, including progress bar and details, data visualisation for Mood and PHQ-9 depression scores and improving the UX for rescheduling of activities.

Healthy Food Ordering App

I love healthy food, so working on this project was a dream come true. I worked with the Senior Designer at Nick Quinn Design agency to carry out the UX and UI for this lively start up team, based in London.

We worked in design sprints of 3 days, but of course the Christmas period and one of the Happy Joe team members developing Covid 19 was a little challenge. Another challenge, was that we were asked to create both the MVP version of the app where delivery was not possible yet, and a delivery option.

Deliverables included Competitor analysis,  User Personas and Journeys, Task Flows, Wireframes, Clickable prototypes, Hi fidelity mockups and
Style guide.

The brief: We were asked to design the app for the MVP journey, which didn't include ordering, payment processing or delivery yet. We were also challenged to integrate customer perks into the app with this version also. We needed to make it clear for the user what they had to do, and also avoid disappointment for not being able to order or pay for the food using the app.

It was the kind of task that definitely got our brain cells moving around in order to solve these complex requirements. We also needed to ensure that the MVP design would easily flow into the delivery version of the app (which we also designed).

Some of our users raised concerns about how accurate the data was going to be. Questions of trust were raised as the app wasn't going to have any scientific endorsements. Our challenge therefore, was to visually demonstrate that the app's focus was on the nutrition and make this a key aspect of the experience. Compared to food orderings apps such as, Deliveroo and Uber Eats.

User Testing: We called on users from the beginning of the process to aid the user flows and the initial wireframes. It was important to gain feedback on what users would expect to see, and how we were going to stand out from standard food delivery apps.

Some users gave us insight into the colour palette we experimented with when it came to the UI. Some loved the bright gradients (V01), but some male users felt it looked too feminine for them and would be put off using the app. We therefore decided to keep the gradients, but change up the colour palette into more typically gender neutral options.

Some users also felt that they were unclear about the 'moods' meant and they needed more of an explanation. We therefore decided to look at making the 'mood' cards larger, with a clear description of how to use them.

The users were unanimous in their opinion on how much of the nutritional information to include on the meal pages. Happy Joe's USP is that they have very incredibly detailed statistics on the foods featured on the app. However, users were primarily concerned with calories, protein and carbohydrates. We decided to conceal the more detailed information with drop down arrows that expand.

My main achievement during this project, was that I learned many aspects of agile design and the feedback loop with the clients, one of whom was the lead developer on the project. In addition, many of my design choices were adopted into the approved version of the app, which has built my confidence with decision making and my value as a professional designer.

Emerge IQ Hub - SaaS

Research
UX Design
UI Design
Data Visualisation
End to End Designer

I worked as the UX/UI End-to-End Lead with the Emerge IQ team on a new SaaS platform.

The brief: To create a platform where users could access different products and use AI algorithms on their own sets of data.

I worked in design sprints of 7 days, with the Business Analyst and Developer. Together, we refined the Product Requirements and set weekly goals for UX strategy, UI design and development.

The main challenge was to design user journeys that would feel cohesive for several vastly different (and niche) product types.

User Involvement: It was important to understand what the users wanted the product to do for them. One of the products we included is FibreIQ, a product aimed at the scientific analytics industry. We included a scientific analyst in our meetings, where we gained valuable feedback on the user flow wireframes and the look and feel of the dashboard. He helped us decide which data points should be visually demonstrated, and how.

My process when approaching projects:

Understand and define the problem that the product is solving, project goals,
who the audience are, what they want and what already exists.

Test early & regularly using paper wireframes / flows, mock-ups &
prototypes to learn what works for rapid iteration.

Create a robust design & brand component system that is clean,
simple to use and a breeze to keep updated.

Continuously refine & develop over time based on both qualitative
and quantitative feedback, including usability scores.

What

I do

User Interface Design

I have experience designing responsive websites and mobile apps, pitch decks, icons, illustrations and logos.

The tools I use are Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Procreate, Sketch and Figma.

User Experience

I adopt the the design thinking process practically in my projects from the Empathise stage to Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test. Keeping my focus on the user and consistently iterating using an agile methodology to attain the best results quickly.

Processes involve brainstorming for ideation, using the 'How might we.. ?' approach to solving problems, user interviews and surveys, user stories, user journeys, task flows, affinity maps and user testing. My go to user testing tools are UsabilityHub.com and Maze.
